This book is a journey of mine. I write poetry to help me to better deal with PTSD. These are poems that come from the experiences of my daily life. I write about everything from love to war time memories.
Inside And Out Bottled up inside Are the words I never spoke The feelings that I hide The lines you never wrote You can see it in my eyes Read it on my size Trapped inside are lies Of the past I can't resize With memories that linger on They don't seem to go away Why can't I be happier from NOW on Tomorrow's a brand new day Yesterdays are over Even though the hurt is not Nothing lasts forever I must cherish what I've got Don't take my love for granted For soon I will be gone That's all you ever wanted Of the love you thought you won The hurt I'm feeling now Won't disappear over night But somewhere, somehow Everything will turn out alright There's no more wishing for the past It wasn't meant to last!
Justin Wright was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa. When he was a kid he always dreamed of being a writer and joining the Marines. He ran into some trouble when he was young and found himself in and out of juvenile detention facilities. He graduated high school in May of 2004. He joined the Marine Corps when he was 18. He served 6 years 8 months of Honorable Service in the Marines and completed 2 tours of duty in Iraq before being Medically Retired for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. He received a Service Dog (Bella) for his problems with PTSD, anxiety, and panic attacks. He is now happily engaged to a beautiful Annette Thatcher. He has a step daughter Jayden and daughter Trinity. They now live in Maine. Life after the Corps is interesting to say the least. Learning to be a civilian is an everyday struggle. One that he takes to heart. He wishes he could have been able to have stayed in the Marines. He loved it. It was the kind of life you would only dream about as a boy.
