The Cries of Freedom Past and Present.
This book serves to remind us of our history as a people and and for the education of generations to come. It's for each of us to come into the understanding of the challenges that faced our forefathers when they were freed. It is also for us as a generation, not to take freedom lightly because it was bought with blood, sweat, and tears.
This book also brings to light the many social issues that cry out to us today from all over the world. For many, freedom has not yet come.
When slavery was abolished mixed emotions were evident. With freedom came happiness, fear of the unknow, anger, helplessness, lack of education and limited skills for the free world. Loneliness and sadness for families that were taken away also lingered. However, freedom was embraced regardless of the hardship ahead. With freedom, came hope, and with hope came dreams which now can become reality.
I write this book with the hope that freedom is not taken for granted. We should all remember the price that was paid. I write with silent prayers that we remain cognizant of the fact that there are people all around the world who are still seeking freedom,
