Humor author Kate Reynolds has published her fourth book. This one is a book of poetry that is emotional, enigmatic and often humorous. Her love of people, animals and various earthly things comes through these pages loud and strong. Her poetry has pure, unadulterated soul!
From the poem 1,000 PIECES

But if you don’t come to me soon
You might not find me at all
Kate might be in 1,000 pieces
Like nothing you’d ever recall
You’d regret that you did stall
You’d not be able to stand tall
You wouldn’t have her ever to call
In winter, spring, summer or fall
You’d look for me all through the hall
And search through parks and the mall
You’d realize you love me after all!

From the poem, DOES YOUR MEATLOAF LOAF?

Does your meatloaf loaf, is it lazy, soft and tender?
Does it lack good flavor, but to the tooth surrender?
Does your family say to you, “I wish you hadn’t made it”?
Do they quickly leave the table, then the recipe books they hit?

Do your invited guests gag and swiftly leave your house?
They won’t come back again – they’re quieter than a mouse
Does your cooking reputation spread like a wild fire?
So much that you seek for your home a realtor, a buyer?
Kate Reynolds (Spillane-Weller) began a love affair with writing many years ago with enigmatic poetry and journalism in her high school years at Mt. St. Mary’s Academy in N. Plainfield, New Jersey. After graduating with a B.A. in English from Chestnut Hill College outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1969, she worked for several years in television production in Manhattan with CBS, CBS Enterprises, which became Viacom, The Dick Cavett Show, Jack Parr Productions, and Marlo Thomas while filming her television special, Free to be You and Me. Life continued to churn as she married, travelled often to Europe with her successful yacht broker husband, John Weller and daughter Clancy, and then did the most important “job” of her life raised her wonderful daughter. Her writing muse lay dormant, but her creativity did not. She kept active with many creative outlets – namely a shell/ribbon jewelry making company – CordonKate – which she dearly loved doing while recovering from a lengthy multiple back fusions surgery. Please visit her website: www.CordonKate.com.
Her first book, Memoirs from Moe, was a surprise gift to her daughter on her twenty-first birthday. It is lush with over a hundred pictures that Kate took herself of their beautiful calico Maine Coon cat named Moe. Moe, the cat that became a “ham”, graciously adopted the author's human family. There are over 130 memorable captioned photos that comprise this delightful book. After separating from her husband in 2007, Kate bought her first puppy since childhood and named her “Dr. Sam” for the late Dr. Samuel T. Hassenbusch, III, head brain surgeon at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Her second book, The Time Marches on Dog Book, was inspired by this adorable pup. The book is a romp through an alternate canine universe where no human activity is not fully adaptable to the daily shenanigans of her rambunctious Miniature French Poodle puppy – usually accompanied by uproarious humor and wit. It is a book primarily intended for adults, with special interest for children. Although the book focuses on humor, it is tempered by the reality of owning and being owned by a pet. The photos included with the narrative will put, with grace, a smile on your face. Dr. Sam marries Bingo, the handsome Havanese, at the end of this book. The proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to cancer research.
Their story continues in a very different sequel, The Family Portrait Album of Dr. Sam and Bingo. There are over 70 creative photographs in this book that chronicle the wedding, honeymoon, relatives, childhood, friends, career, vacations and holidays of Dr. Sam and Bingo. The conclusion of this tale is sad, with Bingo disappearing at sea to make way for Kate's move to Palm City, Florida. Please see her website that includes a two minute YouTube video in which Dr. Sam plays her miniature Steinwayesque piano at: www.Pethumorbooks.com.
The next book in the "Dr. Sam series", Dr. Sam the Snowbird Dog Does Montebello, is soon to be published. She is presently working on a musical comedy screenplay titled “DOGZ.” Her book of humorous and heartbreaking poetry, 2 Minute Loves Poems Poured from the Soul, is forthcoming.
