Midnight Angel
She comes to me late at night
And she held me so very tight
She’s my midnight angel
She comes to me on wings of white
And brings happiness to my night
Her face so sweet and eyes so bright
No matter when she comes she brings as smile to the night
I only see her after the sun goes down
And all the stars are high above the town
Like a phantom she appears
Then she just disappears
Like the deserts shifting sand
She seems to slip through my hands
And when she leaves her sweet smell
Takes my soul to the depts hell
For I miss her after she is gone
And I lay in my big lonely bed all alone
For us both knew it was time for her to go
As we parted so painfully slow
It was time for my angel to take flight
And return once more into the night
I set here in these cold clear days thinking in rhyme
Waiting for her to descend one more time
And bring part of heaven to me in the dark of the night
When my midnight angel takes one more flight
