On a quiet day in Montana, Appaloosa Pete – the roughest, toughest cowhorse around – is disturbed when the farm animals spot a wolf nearby! It’s up to Pete to find the intruder, rescue his best friend, and drive off a tricky pack of wolves. Can he do it? Because, even for a horse like Pete, saving the day is a tough job!
Together Pete and Joe would herd cattle, go to town for supplies, plow the fields, and drive off misfits and troublemakers who came onto the ranch.

Pete followed the bush, watching it carefully. As he watched he noticed that the bush had a fluffy gray tail and a big pink tongue.
“By golly!” thought Pete. “There’s a wolf hiding in that bush!”
