In todays society, the institution of marriage is becoming less and less honored. This is specifi cally true in the Christian community. When in the recent past, the high divorce rate was attributed to non-Christians, but today a high percentage can be attributed to Christians. In this book we will examine seven crucial elements of marriage, that if applied correctly, will keep your marriage strong and long lasting. These elements can be applied by both the Christian and non- Christian and to those already married as well as those considering it.
This is so difficult for many people to understand and consequently cause people to opt out of marriage when love isn’t reciprocated. I am so glad that we have the bible to explain things to us that we don’t understand by ourselves. The bible teaches that love is about giving, not receiving. Acts 20:35 tells us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. In the verse in John 3:16, we are taught that God so loved the world that he gave his only son. The key words in this passage of scripture are “love” and “gave”. It is because God loved that He gave. He did not love us with the expectation of us loving Him back.
