Sam and the Sad Dinosaur is a fable about Mr. Dinosaur, who terrorizes people and eats them. Then one day a little boy named Sam offers to share his cookies. Mr. Dinosaur expresses sadness and remorse for his evil ways and becomes friends with Sam and his little sister Annabel. He changes from a scary dinosaur to a kindly one, no longer lonely and rejected. The story illustrates how offers of friendship and acceptance of differences can bring about positive changes in people.
