The book is about different fruits and vegetables children should try. Most children dislike fruits and vegetables of all kinds before they even taste them. They also don't realize how good they really are and how good they are for them. In this book they will learn how good some fruits and vegetables are, what vitamins they have and how they are good for their little bodies. It also lets them know what can be made with them and find out they are made into something they have already tried. It has a little humor to it as the mother explains the fruits and vegetable to her son, who swears he hates all fruits and vegetables. Once he tries them he comes to realize his mother was right, you can't dislike something you've never tried before. This book hopefully will help your child understand just the basic knowledge about some fruits and vegetable and how they are healthy for them, besides just tasting great. This book is very educational for a child who's age starts around 7 and 8. I hope you all will enjoy it. Thanks.
JoJo and his mother walked over to the different fruit stands where JoJo’s mother grabbed a variety of fruits and put them in her basket. JoJo asked his mother, “What kind of fruits are those in your basket?” His mother replied, “These are red apples, bananas, pears, and mangos.” JoJo looked in the basket and said, “I don’t think I like red apples.” His mother replied, “I don’t think you’ve ever tried red apples.” His mother said apples are a good source of fiber, which is needed for your body’s digestive system, and they are also a good source of vitamin C, which helps heal cuts and wounds and keeps teeth and gums healthy. You know what they say, “An apple a day helps keep the doctor away.” JoJo looked up at his mother and said, “Well, I don’t like bananas, pears, or mangos.” His mother looked down at him and said, “I don’t think you’ve tried bananas, pears, or mangos. Bananas are a good source of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood flow and heart function. Bananas can also help in the absorption of calcium, which makes your bones strong and hard.
I live in ND, and married with three children ages 10, 8 and 5. I was working fulltime but in Oct of 2010 I decided to be a stay home mom. This is when I came up with the idea of writing a childrens book that had some imformation about fruits and vegetables and how they are good for you to eat. This is also one of the many issues mothers may have troubles with, trying to get their child to eat fruits and vegetables they've never tried before. Children who learn about something first have a tendency to be more willing to try it than a child not knowing about it at all. I also believes that more fruits and vegetables should be included in all childrens diets instead of sugars, candy and pops. Our family grows a big garden in the back yard every summer and it is filled with squash, tomatoes, corn on the cob, pumpkins and carrots. I believe a healthy body starts at a young age. Hopefully this book will be educational for both the child and parent.
I think this book is very colorful and the characters are cute and interesting. Its good information to learn about, the age 7 or 8 to start reading this book is appropriate because of the material. I would recommend this book for learning. It might be long but it has good information.
