Kevin Thomas is an eighteen year boy that is drafted into the Vietnam War shortly after his brother Seth returns from the war. Seth is medical discharged with an amputated let that earns him a purple heart. Over in the country of Vietnam, Kevin for the first time in his young life falls in love with a teenage Veitnamese girl that he meets in the chaotic big city of Saigon on his first weekend pass in the Army.
A cloudy dusky Saturday morning at seven-eighteen, Kevin is by an old Japanese four door light blue cab. He is accompanied by Private Armstrong and Winfree in front of the Camp’s entrance. He tells the driver, “We want to go to a nice Vietnamese restaurant in a good part of town.” Speaking In Vietnamese. “You got it, my G.I friend.” Replies back in Vietnamese. He is a skinny messy haired driver. Kevin, Winfree and Armstrong are sitting on a ripped up all over, badly stained, garbage and cigarette butt clutter on the floor boards of the run down vehicle.
I am a descriptive writer that adds as much detail to my stories as I can in the writing process. My books get to the heart of the story without meaning less lengthy page filling words that some arthors have a tendensy to do. I want to entertain the reader as much as I can through my stories as well educate a little. I live in McMinnville, Oregon with my husband, who I have been married for eleven years and my son, Ray. I was born in California, but lived in Oregon for over twenty years now!
