In the ever-recurring passage of the ages, as life, civilizations, cultures and humanity’s awareness have evolved, a message has been eternally whispered in man’s ear; a continuum of Divine Revelation has unfolded essential to the next pending chapter in the Book of Life, bearing a profound vision of mankind’s spiritual heritage. The message contained in this Ageless Wisdom has been one of hope and promise; of a future fulfillment and the possibility of attaining an ecstatic, Unified State termed Heaven, Nirvana, Mecca or Paradise, awaiting mankind at the end of his spiritual journey.

The Divine Knowledge (Gnosis) explored in the trilogy, One Solitary Life embodies the coordinates of the Path of man’s evolution toward divinity, leading to the attainment of man’s Spiritual Legacy; union with the Divine. This Book One of the trilogy, The Vision the Journey and The Quest, begins the unfolding of an arcane teaching whose origin is lost in antiquity, and yet is profoundly relevant today. It sets the stage for an exploration of the nature of man’s soul and its pilgrimage, by addressing the spiritual principles that have been handed down throughout the ages in the form of the world’s varied religions and philosophies. It speaks to the “Mysteries” that are at the heart of Creation. It puts into context and bold relief the role Christianity and the rest of the world’s religions have played in this unfolding cosmic scenario and explores their contradictions and inequities. 

One Solitary Life, starting with the pristine arcane teaching that has perennially given birth to diverse religions and philosophies; each competing for man’s mind and heart, and each professing an absolute interpretation and stewardship of life’s inherent meaning; explores the Universal Verities that are the heart and soul of all true religious discourse. It journeys in Book Two through comprehensive levels of metaphysical reality and arrives, in Book Three, at the ultimate consummation of the mystical Path of Light, as personified by Christ.

I posit, for your consideration, the notion that, with the stimulus provided by the energies of the Age of Aquarius, another uplifting of human awareness is occurring right now. Time, Nature, experience and the Divine Process have worked their magic in fine-tuning and honing consciousness, both planetary and individual. A critical mass is being attained in the collective consciousness, precipitating many dramatic changes. The world is stirring in many strange ways. Another crisis is upon us not unlike that of two thousand years ago. We are trembling on the verge of another giant step forward. Much of humanity stands at the threshold of a new awakening. The next revelation and a new interpretation are imminent. The planet is now poised for a great spiritual renaissance. We are about to embark upon a new world cycle. Maybe that’s why we are so troubled. All that is transpiring, the seemingly senseless confusion, conflict and upheaval, is no indication of failure, but rather the experience of birthing pains. 

The ancient Chinese had a curse; “May you be born during an interesting period in history.” Look around you and you can see why they spoke of it as a “curse.” All this intense activity is so fascinating, seductive and entrapping. We are so easily captivated by all that is occurring around us. But the intensity of the times can be seen, in addition, as a blessing for it is also a period of great opportunity. There is so much available with which we can work. This time, like all times, is “the best of times” if we but know what to do with it.  This time, like all times, is “the worst of times,” if we allow the pregnant possibilities of the period to go by unattended.

At the start of a new age the extremes are always made active by the impact of emerging energies conflicting with the resistant and entrenched views of the past. We live in an age of revolution, the old and new side by side, in conflict. We have the comparative historic glories of the old clashing with the inexhaustible richness of those possibilities inherent in a dawning “New Age.” The need for a new, fresh revelation, a new perceptual model embodying a new world view has never been greater; one that will not condemn the models of the past, but simply recognize their limitations and move on with greater vision.

Other “Ages” have had their driving forces resulting in the birth of new and appropriate expressions of those ancient teachings that have perpetually guided the soul in its journey of awakening. During each cycle, mankind has had to endure the pressures and pains of ideological confrontation. What shape or form, I wonder, will embody the “Teachings” appropriate to this next world cycle? One thing is sure; under the new stimulus, some of us will awaken, some will not. Fear not, the process continues. “Many are called but few are chosen.” (Matt 22:14) All are nonetheless divine! They too will awaken at their appropriate hour on the cosmic clock.
