In this book I wanted to capture an artistic side of Iraq.  It has been associated with so much grief and pain in the past few decades that I wanted to show a different side of it.  It seemed hard for me to describe Iraq to my family and friends when I came home.  Hopefully, this book will help paint the picture and possibly help other soldiers tell their story as well.
Preview coming soon.

All photographs were taken and edited by Sergeant Levi Lascsak while on tour in Iraq in 2005.  SGT. Lascsak was an Infantryman (11B) with Bravo Company, 111th Engineer Battalion of the 36th Infantry Division.  He was stationed at Camp Slayer in Baghdad.  SGT. Lascsak’s unit was tasked with base camp security and included perimeter security, random neighborhood patrols and the QRF.  He spent most of his time as a gun truck commander of the Quick Reaction Force.  He was 25 years old at the time.  SGT. Lascsak was born and raised in Stephenville, Texas; he currently resides near New Orleans, Louisiana.
