INTRODUCTION
A close friend once asked me this question: “Is it really necessary to admit our failings and shortcomings to God?” My response to this friend was, “Only if you want His forgiveness…”
You see, sin, all sin, causes us to lose fellowship with God. And seeing as we depend on Him for the very air we breathe, Who else could we confess these sins to and receive total cleansing and forgiveness?
Religion, over the years, has encouraged a form of condemnation that says that, even as believers, we’re nothing more that filthy pieces of dirty rags, unworthy of any blessing of forgiveness our heavenly Father would be willing to bestow upon us. Keep in mind that religion is defined as “man’s inadequate attempt to connect with God using natural, carnal means”. On the other hand, relationship with God reminds us that our worthiness and His ability to forgive us are NOT based on anything you or I have done. Rather, is based solely upon the extraordinary life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ – the Anointed One. Yes, religion attempts to make this whole salvation of the world concept completely about us; whereas relationship keeps it all about Him. In fact, everything that we see in the Bible is about His desire to include us in His plan of the redemption of man in the earth.
Now, I know I have already caused some to wonder if they need to continue reading. Please do. I promise you that you will have a much clearer understanding on this subject by the time you complete reading these pages. And because you will then understand the Father’s purpose of the blessing of confessing, you can be totally delivered from the stronghold of unforgiveness in your life.
This is a true statement – God does not want to keep us in bondage to the memory of our past evil deeds. He desires so much for you to be free of all that to live a Christ-centered, Spirit-led life on this earth.
That’s why, in Isaiah 43:25, He says:
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake,
and will not remember thy sins.
Friend, if you will allow it, you can be free of all the past junk that torments you and causes you to feel unworthy of the Father’s love. Today is your receiving day because there is a Blessing In Confessing!
