The riders take their courage and faith to new heights as they compare their struggles up 12,000 foot passes to their bedridden friend struggling with cancer for his life. Along the way, you meet John Brown while learning about his bravery. You laugh at their exploits on other world tours with stories told around a campfire. This bicycle adventure offers the best for cyclists and armchair travelers.” Charles Blackmer “Ever ride a bicycle along a cliff face? Have you sweated your way up a Rocky Mountain pass? Have you rubbed shoulders with Lewis and Clark on their Corps of Discovery 1803 expedition? Did you ever meet the famous mountain man Jim Bridger? Have you set eyes on the Grand Tetons? Watched Old Faithful explode into the sky? How about water falling up? Can you imagine a natural rock bridge 103 yards long? On this ride, you’ll see all these historical figures, natural wonders and much more. This is a funny, compelling ride along the Spine of the Rockies.” Paul Warneke “This bicycle dream ride carries a bit of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. The author mixes hope with adventure, pain with courage and bicycling with mountains. John Brown, a friend left behind to battle cancer, provides guts and heart for his two friends who ride into the teeth of nature’s fury. Along the way, you’ll laugh, cry and gain new appreciations while pondering about the meaning of life. It’s a great read!” Jeff Rockford

Six months after World War II ended, I worked my way to Europe from San Francisco as a deckhand on the Swedish ship, Canada, intending to study at the Sorbonne on the G. I. Bill. Arriving too late to attend the summer session at the University, I began writing articles for a Swedish newspaper in Gothenburg. The stories I learned in Sweden which intrigued me most concerned the disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat who had saved the lives of many Jews in Hungary from the Nazis by issuing them Swedish passports. After the Russians entered Budapest in 1945, Wallenberg was never seen again and searches for what happened to him proved fruitless. After a wonderful summer in Scandinavia, I drifted south, across a Germany, devastated by war and occupied by the victors. Late in September of 1947, I met Dennis Clarke, MGM''s news editor in Europe, who became my mentor in investigative journalism. He helped me to write articles about the crisis in Palestine and the murder of Count Bernadotte by Jewish terrorists. While in London, I interviewed the Russian Prince Obelensky and my conversations with him gave me a greater understanding of the causes of the Bolshevik Revolution and the financing of Lenin and company by non-Russian outsiders. Before I left Europe after covering the critical elections of 1948 in Italy, I no longer believed the Germans alone were the cause of World War II. There had been too, dark and evil forces that led to the tragic war for Europe, which the victors had chosen to ignore. In the years that followed my return to the United States, I would periodically, when I was bored with the business world, escape to faraway places as a freelance journalist. It was Auden who noted, "Man needs escape as he needs food and deep sleep." After my marriage in Sweden in 1959, I produced films for European television with my partner Richard Friedman. During my twenty-five years of marriage, we had nine children, all but two were born in Europe or Mexico. Now, nearly sixty years after becoming a journalist in Europe, with the encouragement of friends and family, I am finishing my first novel, "Reserved Unto Fire."

Praise for—How to Live a Life of Adventure “After reading the first 20 chapters, I was ready to tackle a grizzly bear, wrestle a sea lion and climb Mount Everest. Not only does Wooldridge inspire you to live a maximum life, he shows you how to do it. I loved the adventures between every instructional chapter. I appreciated how thorough he was with references, key points and guides.” Roger Hamilton, teacher “I am a tomboy. I travel and play sports. I’m also bold and sassy. This book addresses women who love to try everything once, twice and more. Wooldridge covers everything women need to know about traveling, mountain climbing, rafting, horseback riding, backpacking and much more.” Sarah Gingrich, rodeo cowgirl “Emile Zola said, "I'm here to live out loud!" Those words reflect the spirited life and writings of Frosty Wooldridge. His book reminds us that whether we trek high into the mountains or bike up hills closer to home, adventure awaits around the bend. I recommend this book for aspiring travelers as well as armchair explorers. He shows you how to make your dreams come true.” Dan Millman, Way of the Peaceful Warrior “Hands down! This is the best adventure book I have ever read with stories from all over the world. But wait! Wooldridge shows you “how” to go adventuring to make your own stories and fill your own scrapbook with memories. It’s excellent in every way!” Paul Margeletta, father, weekend warrior “This book is extraordinary. The information is so valuable that it should be read daily for inspiration and guidance. I had to stop myself from underlining every sentence in the book. I want to buy this life-changing book as a gift for everyone I know, especially my kids.” Susan Scollozi, housewife, traveler “Half way through the concepts and practices in this profound book, I realized that the author may have meant to show readers how to live a life of adventure, but it occurred to me that this book shows anyone how to lead a very happy and successful life on a day to day basis. His concepts support mental, emotional, educational and spiritual health. Every adult and kid in America needs to read this book. It’s that good.” Arthur Daniels, teacher How the book will benefit you! • You will discover your strengths, self-confidence and passions • You may engage methodical steps for moving into your own fulfilling adventure-filled life • You will build steadfast convictions and personal empowerment • You will find others to share your adventures • You will discover which kinds of adventures excite you • Check lists for men and women for every kind of adventure • You will never look back with regrets

This story started out as a reminder of the hike my family and I had shared. From the first night out away from all the noise of the day to day life to the hour to hour frustration of the insects who invaded our lives. Between the beauty of the waterfalls and our ability to share the lives of the creatures who resided there, to the situations each of us were placed in for example mud holes and roots that covered the ground in every size and shape, I believe the entire family was able to find a peace and closeness that had been missing for a while. I hope that everyone that reads this book will find out what I have. There is nothing like spending a few days out in the wilderness with the ability to find solace and an understanding of just how important it is to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day within every inch of nature contained within our borders. Along with that fact please take the time to show your family just how important they are. This was the main reason I decided to go on this hike. Good or bad it was one of the best vacations I had ever taken. I hope each person enjoys reading this story as much as I did actually partaking in it. Enjoy

From Papaz Let the stories begin. From the concept, this book is intended to let each photo tell its own story and to let the viewers to share their stories inspired from the images. It is not a documentary of my experiences taking the photos. It is to inspire conversations, questions, laughs and maybe some wows, look at that reactions. If any of those reactions happen, then I have done what I was trying to do. Maybe you or someone you know has been or wants to go to some of these locations. My idea of a coffee table book is one that is shared with others to open communications and invoke emotions without seriousness. To the people I met while at locations photographing “Tommy 4 Toes”, I want to HI again. Each of you are my stories. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement toward my book. From rough weather and tropical paradise conditions plus life threatening situations are mine to relish and share with people I sit with to look at “TROLLING ON TWO”. Use this book to tell your own stories. It has taken over six years and 25,000 road miles to bring my adventure of this leg of trolling to print. I hope you enjoy the ride. Tommy and I have places to go, see you when we get back. Papaz
