Footprints in Parchment Rome Versus Christianity 30-313 AD masterfully tackles the question: How did a group of Christians with no homeland and no standing army defeat the juggernaut of ancient Rome? Using hundreds of first-hand accounts of events, Silver guides the reader through the rise and the reach of Imperial Rome to its eventual ruin and rescue by the infant Christian Church. Over a three hundred year period Rome killed tens of thousands of Christians in an attempt to eradicate this new religion that it correctly intuited would bring Rome to its knees. Tertullian had said in the early 200’s, “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” Why did Rome kill all those people just because they believed in a Jewish carpenter from an obscure part of her Empire and why did so many Christians willingly die? The martyrs died for the religious freedom to publicly say the words “Christianus sum.” “I am a Christian.” They won that right. Rome Versus Christianity leads the reader down the road of Rome’s decline and Christianity’s rise. There are many fascinating sights along the way.

The year is 1972, the age of hippies screaming for peace sweeps the land! Long-haired boys and young girls wearing mini skirts, were trying to `find themselves' ! The news reported on demonstrations at campuses across the country, where peace protests were carried out with violence. But a shy, seventeen year old boy in the Deep South is fascinated by a different movement spreading throughout the land. They called themselves `Jesus People' and were speaking of a personal relationship with the Lord. He hungered and searched for a deeper walk with Christ. His search eventually led him to a group of people in a nearby town. So enthralled with the apparent sincerity of these folks, he left the traditional church he had been raised in. Thinking that he'd finally found the answer to the disappointments of his life, he was drawn toward the lifestyle of these `Believers'. But slowly that idyllic dream began to turn into a horrifying nightmare as their teachings soon formed chains of bondage around his spirit, which seemed impossible to escape! However, the Lord reveals Himself to all who seek after Him! The help from heaven came to this boy through unexpected sources, But Jesus often uses the simple to confound the wise, creating a humble heart within us, and enabling us to see the truth.

The goal of this book is to introduce God’s Spiritual Fruit to children. In the process, it seemed like a good way to share knowledge about a selection of tropical fruit through art form. Most of the fruit was new to me, before I lived in The Virgin Islands for a few years. I hope children will learn about spiritual fruit-the Godly characteristics that are combined into one fruit, God’s fruit. The tropical fruit they will be presented on the pages are not to be connected to the Godly attributes given. My prayer is that we adults teach children as we demonstrate the nature of God in our daily walk of being fruitful. According to the New Living Translation of scripture, when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I hope this book will encourage children to apply the attributes found here and also see how good the fruit of God is. Included on the pages are some tropical fruit that you may have never noticed in your local grocery store. Perhaps you have seen the fruit but never tasted it. This was my situation, until I lived in the Caribbean for a while. I learned that tropical fruit is closer to the equator and sunshine therefore; tropical fruit is more potent with vitamins. I did not realize what I was missing until I tasted the unfamiliar fruit. Hopefully, you will search for the different fruit in your local grocery or local cultural food store, or while you visit a Caribbean Island. Enjoy.

Nearly 2000 years ago, the Good News of the Kingdom began to be preached throughout the Mediterranean by a carpenter’s son, Jesus of Nazareth. His teachings restored dignity and religious freedom to all who heeded his message of hope. However, within 400 years, Christianity had lost its way and reverted back to the old ways of clergy/laity distinctions. Ecclesiastical authority brought divisions and sects, and pitted Christian against Christian. The individual disciple lost his spiritual autonomy and was relegated to a position of servitude to a church rather than as a dynamic free son of God. As a result, the Good News as Jesus conceived it has to a large extent been submerged under so much dogma. Christianity today languishes for lack of a new vision of Jesus’ life and the religion that he practiced. Modern man will refuse to accept a religion which is inconsistent with known facts and out of harmony with his highest conceptions of truth, beauty, and goodness. He will not acquiesce to a religion based on supers-titious bondage and religious fear. Therefore, what is needed is a new revelation of Jesus’ life illuminated with a new understanding of his Good News of eternal salvation. The purpose of this book is to reintroduce Jesus to mankind. The world needs new leaders, spiritual men and women who will dare to depend solely on Jesus and his incomparable teachings. Until then, worldwide harmony will continue to be the illusive dream of a hopeful minority instead of the tangible reality of a God-knowing human race. And when this Good News is preached in all the inhabited earth, the end of wickedness, sorrow, distress, and anguish will come. (Matthew 24:14)

When you meet Dave, he’s not especially dynamic, or spiritual, or virtuous… just a fairly ordinary bloke with faults and weaknesses, like anyone else. At the beginning he really wasn't looking for a life-changing supernatural contact – he was just busy earning a living. The results of that first experience of a supernatural Holy Spirit reverberated through the years, changing every aspect of his life, even his very self. The journey led into places that were dangerous, even life threatening. It was a journey from "what’s the point of it all?’ to prosperity, fulfilment, mission and purpose – and, according to him, the journey is available to anyone who wants it! If you’ve ever wondered whether there really is a spiritual dimension in the universe, then you may want to read this book. If you've ever wondered whether it’s possible for an ordinary person to be touched by supernatural realities with the power to change people and lives, then you definitely want to read this book.
