This book details my life in showing my relationship to the spiritual side of life.  It also shows the manifestations of answered prayer.

It is my hope and desire that this book will help others in their quest for a relationship with God.  It’s because of Gods grace and mercy that we should hope in.  Hebrews 4:16 says this “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

This book was written in response to questions that I get from various people of many different denominations.  Many people today claim to be too busy to do any serious studying of scripture. My response is we have to, at some point, make time.  The collection of essays in this book, hopefully, will shed some light, and answer some of your questions. 

I was literally stunned by some of the beliefs I was hearing from different christians I had the opportunity to hold discussions with.  As Paul told Timothy, and others, it is absolutely imperative that we safeguard the gospel from corruption.  Is your Church safeguarding the Gospel?

From June 1993 through August 2005, I had the great privilege of serving as Nyack C o l l e g e < / s t 1 :placetype>’s eleventh president.  These dozen years were marked by many divine blessings: spiritual revival, enrollment growth, urban campus planting, facility enhancement, degree additions, diversity awards, integration of college and seminary, and many more blessings. 

During that time I began the discipline of writing a one-page (two sides) monthly paper that I called Upfront. The name was chosen to indicate my intention to be as transparent and above board as possible with the readers.  Most of those articles, as well as convocation addresses and other timely messages are found in this book.  They cover topics that show the interplay between Christ and culture, and particularly the world of the emerging X Generation.
