This revision of my memoir addresses the concerns and mindsets involved in dealing with personal misfortune.  In my case, the overriding misfortune is a severe form of Cerebral Palsy.  It affects my speech, coordination, and locomotion.

The very essence of the book is that these impairments, misfortunes though they may be, do not define me.  They do not define who I am, what I believe or what I strive to offer.

This book is about more than me.  It is about my mom and dad and my immediate family.  By their genetic and spiritual energy they gifted me with all that made them special and loving.  They gifted me with the knowledge that just to exist on a day to day basis is a misrepresentation of what we must do as members of our family, citizens of our community, and our world.

Thus, I learned early on that my disability was always to be controlled and never to be used as an excuse for not being an active player on the world’s stage.   Does the world have many stages?  Certainly.  With severe Cerebral Palsy I had to learn how to play my part no matter what the setting on the stage.

I worked long and hard to make this book a well-focused account of what I have done and how I have done it.  I want it to be an inspiration, a guide, on how to deal with some really awful stuff.  I want the reader to discover happily that with a lot of hard work and a little wiggle room most misfortune can be put in its proper place.

This is a happy book.  I worked to fill it with all the joy of life that my family poured into my soul.

In the end I want the reader to discover that, indeed, I am not what I am.

Few would argue that people suffer from mental illness, mental breakdowns, depression or any number of adjectives that describe behaviors that adversely, even severely, affect people’s lives.

In law it is said that “it doesn’t matter what one believes, only what one can prove.” The same can be said for psychiatric diagnosing. It matters little what anyone in the medical/psychiatric community “believe” is the cause(s) of mental illness. The question that has not been answered is whether tens of millions of Americans who have been diagnosed with any one or number of psychiatric mental disorders suffer from a mental “disease” - an objective, confirmable abnormality of the brain.

What is known is that neither the American Psychiatric Association nor the National Institute of Mental Health, nor any other medical organization, is capable today of making available scientific evidence to prove that any psychiatric disorder is an objective, confirmable abnormality of the brain.

& n b s p ; & nbsp;          This mantra is repeated throughout the book because it is the point of the book. That people are suffering isn’t in question. Whether they actually suffer from a psychiatric disorder that is a known objective, confirmable abnormality of the brain is in question because selling mental disorders as “disease,” such as the theoretical chemical imbalance, has become the norm in the medical/psycho pharmaceutical

Community and it is blatantly false.  The People, if given the truth, can take it. The decision to accept the psychiatric diagnosis and seek treatment with psychiatric mind-altering drugs may be no different, but at least the decision will be based on all the truth, the objective confirmable scientific evidence, not theories, wishful thinking, deceptive advertising and misleading advocacy group, pharmaceutical company and government-sponsored information campaigns.

By Edwin I. Roth, M.D.
The author proposes the recognition of a condition, which he terms The Post-LSD Syndrome, in which patients who have had prior experience with LSD experience a triad of distressing and debilitating symptoms. This triad of unique symptoms consists of a sleep disturbance, anxiety, and forms of mental instability which are described in detail. These symptoms can occur after decades of even only one exposure to LSD. The author describes in detail a variety of case studies which illustrate the various forms of pathology which the condition can manifest. Typical cases which consist of a fairly clear and direct presentation of the basic triad of symptoms are described, as are atyplcal cases in which other symptoms may appear to predominate, such as depression and addictions. Situations in which other conditions may coexist with The LSD-Syndrome and in which they reenforce each other, such as PTSD, are also described. The book is written for the benefit of the general public as well as for professionals, in the hope of helping people obtain proper treatment.

TRAUMA IN PERSONALITY DISORDER A Clinician’s Handbook THE MASTERSON APPROACH When trauma and personality disorder combine, it is a therapeutic test for patient and treating clinician alike. Both face the challenge of hard, painful work in order to meet the goal of healing. For the clinician, this book presents a clear theoretical base for psychotherapy followed by a description of specific techniques. The theory is based on the developmental, object relations approach advanced by James F. Masterson, MD; the treatment is demonstrated in casebook form. Childhood trauma as well as present day PTSD is addressed, and four major types of personality disorder are delineated. Throughout, it is shown how trauma work and character work must be kept in balance so that the psychotherapy leads to its desired goal.

Laterality is a big word used to describe the ability of a person to create an energetic system of solutions, when an unplanned event happens in life. This book is a door opened into the world of silence where some children are labelled with learning disabilities, dyslexia, autistic tendencies, dysllaterality, bad behavior and many other things. These pages will open your intellectual intuition and your heart to understand the energetic systems of our earth vibrations. This micro-book is full of real-life events experienced by people of different ages who felt dysfunctional in their daily life and were helped by the Alternative Medicine that is Auriculomedicine; with or without needles. Following Doctor Paul Nogier's wisdom, Lise Couture guides you to the heart and the cause of the problem so that you can feel the reality experienced by children on a path of learning to heal from a world in majority organized for the left-brain people. You will find solutions along with a lot of love in reading this book. Good reading! Good health! Good laterality! Lise Couture, Dannie's mother, and mother of all the other children of the planet.
