This is a deeply personal piece of work with which experiences are shared in a rather random matter. Thus the title itself is exactly what the reader will get. It is a three way combination of poetry, one short story, and some monolouges. Once again with its real sense of self, and personal touch Reflections of Randomness is a must read for anyone looking for truth in art, and random appeal.

ABOUT THE BOOK Doug brushes the dust off his notebook with his second book of poetry “The Rebirth of A Lost Poet”. This book discusses love, relationships, news & events, and struggles at a very descriptive and intriguing level. His dedication poem “You Inspire Me” displays his appreciation for being inspired by the invaluable gift of being in love and having his heart touched in a way we all wish for once in our lives. Doug’s thoughts explain how the most precious things in life touch a person in that exceptional way that can never be bought or replaced. Doug’s creative way of describing a romantic scene on the beach is revealed in “Continuously”, while taking romance a step further with his sensual and soothing poem “Let Me In”. In his poem “AmBushed”, he addressed the tragedy of September 11, 2001, and the thoughts that were running through his mind as it transpired. His poems < s t 1 : c o u n t r y - r e g ion>America’s Top Model”, “God’s Words To Me”, “My Vows To You”, “Mother’s Words”, and “If I Had The Chance to Sing To You” will bring tears to a person’s eyes, because a person will feel the passion that is pouring out of his heart for the one he loves. Lastly, he leaves everyone pondering what is going to happen next as he confesses a secret in his final poem, “The Secret in My Drawer”. & n b s p ; & nbsp; Doug’s purpose in writing this book is to explain how a person can be inspired by love to accomplish remarkable things. Worldly possessions such as money, cars, houses, and jewelry are fine, but the feeling you get from touching someone’s heart or sharing that bond of true love is priceless and will never go out of style. The Rebirth of A Lost Poet will encourage a person to follow one’s heart in regards to pursuing happiness because life is too short to let something you treasure slip away.

Writing was something that came easy because I don’t follow the rules that most writers do, I write what I feel AT THAT TIME. My Words Written My Way is a book that comes from some of life’s experiences. at one time or another everyone has thought of what it would be like to walk in Daddy’s shoes or have been told that “You ain’t Grown” or even heard a child of four have a slightly different conversation. Yet it is “To him who is” that we owe all of our blessings.

Ruth met Bob when she was eighteen. They felt their meeting was meant to be. But both of them had a great deal of inner growth to accomplish. After eight years of marriage they divorced. In the next sixteen years they did the work it took to grow - separately. When they remarried, their gratefulness knew no bounds. They knew how very fortunate they were and lived together with a deep appreciation for having a second chance in life. When Bob died twenty years later, Ruth put her grief into the words that are this book. For me poetry is a spiritual unfolding of the essence of relationships through words. Below is the title poem of my book of poetry, dedicated to my husband Bob: Days of Together We knew days of together then, humbled away from us we knew life alone. As though by no reason our beings played a seemingly magical game, Our course designed by the Master in kindness and in beauty is our daily graduation in eternal search for Truth. Ruth won the American Pen Women Award for her short story, “Locked Inside,” which she read at the new San Francisco Library.

Changed on the Wheel is a collection, presented in chronological order, of personal poems written mostly to others on different occasions. These poems were written with a heart to encourage, to edify spiritually, and at times in a stream of humor. Some of the poems express my own places of spiritual consternation where my search for more of His insight was taking place thru' the poem. These are intensely personal, but I have shared 'em all with the heartcry of sharing my innermost thoughts and experiences as He changes me day by day, ever continually. Not all of the poems will minister to every person, but somewhere among 'em, each reader will find a "nugget" to identify with or which will unveil fresh truth clothed in the simple garbs of a poem. The poems can help one to progress from one level of spiritual maturity to another because this is the spectrum of events which has inspired 'em, by His Spirit.

I think it is somewhat unique because of the correlated drawings, which incorporated the friendship of various people; and because of the songs that are included. (As noted, full piano sheet music is available for those who want to get it.) My computer expert, Anthony Fisher, really deserves a lot of credit for help in arranging the drawings and music on the computer. He had a lot of patience with me.

Life is a book of poetry that I have continued writing over the course of three years. I write about love, and loss, and I will tell you that most of the poems have a pretty interesting story that follows them because they are written based on experience. I wrote Life to show other teens that there are others out there going through what they are. Others that feel the pain they do, but that there are also others that care. I wrote it so that other teens don’t have to go through life alone. I feel that growing up, friendships play a big part in shaping those teens into what they eventually become, and that no child, teen or adult should ever feel alone. I am nowhere near adulthood, but I want to make a difference, I want to reach out to other teens that feel the way I did. Hopefully my writing will change some of their lives, the way the poets of the past and the everyday heroes in my life have made a difference in mine. I’ll leave you with one last saying, something that I will always remember where ever I go and something that was told to me by my parents, “In life, choose your friends, don’t let your friends choose you.” I hope you enjoy my view on Life.
