This book was prepared over many years of my working in school administration. I have unfortunately seen many very good teacher candidates not get a job because of poor interviewing skills, incomplete resumes, and just not being prepared for the interview process. With more and more people wanting to work in education that have not come through the “normal” ranks of college teacher training, it is even more imperative for the candidate to do his/her homework to get their first teaching position. The Boy Scouts of America have a saying of “Be Prepared.” This is true for the new teacher looking for her/his first job or the veteran teacher wanting to transfer to a new assignment. As our population grows in America, we will need more and more teachers who are skilled in areas that I never saw when I started in education over 37 years ago. The challenges will increase and the frustrations will mount but you will find that teaching is a job that you will love more as the years pass. I hope that the tips in this book will be useful to you as you start your journey into a very rewarding and exciting career.

100 Job Search Tips (Yes, 100!) contains valuable, practical, and functional guidelines for landing the job you want. The truth is, we often need help. In writing this book, I hope to assist others with their job search strategies. Locating a job is a process. The harsh reality is, this is not a fun process! I hope to provide some no-nonsense approaches to the job search. This is not a formal book, as formality is not my style. However, a job search needs to be handled with decorum and maturity. Some of these tips will direct you in the proper manner in which to conduct your job search. You will gain knowledge of how to interview properly, how to negotiate a fair salary, where to look for a job, how to keep your job, how to handle stress, how to handle time management, and how to maintain your sanity through this progression. You are in charge of your career. With this book, I intend for you to have the support you need with some useful tips geared for just about anyone in any field of employment. Good luck!
